Invasion is a very extrem different mod and you can't can compare it with monsterhunt.
Bad that there is no real mh mod for 2k4.

Its abit like LMS but with spawning monsters at random places.
Works on nearly any UT2004 maps. Many servers have hours
of downloads and actually suck then ... .

UT2004 doesn't feel like UT to me, so I'll always prefer UT99 MH. Not saying I don't like UT2004. I've had a lot of fun on that game.

Sort of related - I take it the dU UT3 server has been shut down?

Youre right - the 2004 characters indeed seem somehow small.
Though you can even change the graphic contrast.
And then there are always the big team arrows
which cant be turned off over comrades ... .

It's just not been rebuilt since we switched over to the new hardware. If there are a few people interested in playing on it then we will get it rebuilt.

I was wanting to try it when I re-download UT3 again. So here's hoping others are interested.

Which UT is btw the energy cheapest?
Or lets say which PCs are most enery
saving - the new multicores or the good old stuff?
I would really like to to do without the anyhow not
cool new graphics which are probably 50%
sponsored by the PC industry.

Also bad in UT2004 are the monsters new projectiles
(at least considering the original invasion types
which also are the same from Unreal1)
since they somehow contrast with their overall look.
But there actuall is a mod which allegedly is pretty
much the same like monsterhunt  - the so called
OldSkool Monsta Toolz.  Check here >>
