But be warned:
- map is extrem big. It takes much Grafikcard power.
- takes much download.

My hardware:
- AMD FX 6100 6Core
- 16GB RAM
- GForce 650Ti with 1GB DDR5 RAM

Used UT Drivers:
Direct3D 2-15FPS
DirectX8: Crash
DirectX9:  2 - 10FPS
DirectX10: 2 - 10FPS (Problems with the natures textures)
DirectX11: 2 - 10FPS
OpenGL : 15 - 30FPS
All tryed to play with 1920x1080

Would be nice you can post your settings and your FPS, so we can build a good UT configuration ;)

Its a great map which is it worth to optimize UT ! Twisted Evil

I'm not home so can't post my settings (don't tend to memorize that stuff) but I didn't have any slowdown issues on my end...

...though I imagine it'd be different playing it online.

We've just got to test the map on the Main server.

Sadly, it's still not really playable in its present state.
The main problem with this map is that it seems to cause massive "lag" (frame drops) for many players.
It also increased the ping for some people.

The project would be interesting, but if it's going to be kept on the servers, it needs to be optimised, so it doesn't inconvenience players that much.
I don't mind slight lag, but this is just too much, not just for me. My computer can run most modern games without problems.

While you're fixing it, please also do something about the ugly BSP hole which you can see outside the map borders.

Just giving my feedback on the main server testing of this map.

To help put things into perspective, I'm an avid PC gamer, and therefore have a high-end computer that can play any modern games on high settings with a consistently high frame rate. I'm not adding this to "brag", I just feel it's relevant.

Anyway, when I tested this map, my frame rate would absolutely plummet. In some areas it was okay, but when looking over the central canyon, I saw my frames drop to about 8 or 9 per second, when most maps give me 60 almost all of the time. Anything less than about 20 frames per second is pretty much unplayable. My average FPS during the one match we played ended up very, very low. Not only that, but the jarring movement (Due to the low FPS) gave me a headache. Furthermore, as Hyperion stated, I noticed peoples pings jumping higher than usual, causing even further lag.

In its current state, the map is virtually unplayable and could use some optimising. I would suggest the map is removed from the main server for now, while it gets optimised. Maybe Thunderbolt could split it into multiple parts if the optimisation is too difficult? Sort of like the TGES maps. It may not be ideal, but it would make them playable.

I don't want to seem like I'm attacking the map, as I'm trying to be constructive with my feedback, but I think it's unfair on the players who still have very old computers, as their computers will not be able to handle this map in the slightest.

For those having trouble playing the map online, 2 questions:
1) Have you tried lowering the detail of the graphic content? There's two setting for that on 1st tab of options/preferences: world & something else

2) Instead of online, how well does it play in a practice match on your own computer with bots?
